State House

On Thursday the political science class went on a field trip to the State House. Even though our tour guide was a little crazy it was overall a fun trip. The State House was an amazing place, it was really beautiful.

Obama Won!!!!!

Obama won. America has made history, in our lifetime no less. Obama has made it to the top but now what? He has many issues to take care of. Can he complete them all? What will his first issue to tackle be?

Election

The election is coming and it is problably going to be the most historical electoin in our lifetime. The big question is, as it always is, who is going to win? Will Obama become our frist African American president? Or will McCain beat him? Many factors are going into this election also. Is race going to be a factor? Will McCain's age play a factor?

Speakers

Last week we had two speakers come in to the class to talk about the candidates. Overall the presentations went very well.
The Obama speaker, Mrs. S, did an extremely good job. She was very convincing with her presention and when questions were asked she asnwered them dead on. Not only did she do this but also she kept the class's attention throughout the whole period.
The speaker for McCain, Micheal, also did a good job. He answered most of the questions and kept the class's attetion for the most part.
It is hard to compare the two to eachother because of thier differences in age and also Mrs. S has much more experience then Micheal.

Palin on Saturday night live

What is Palin's motivation for this? Is she trying to say she can poke fun at herself or is she trying to get another message across?

History Suggests McCain Faces an Uphill Battle

I just read an article in the New York times posted with this title. The article states that McCain may have no chance at becoming president. It goes on saying that some presidents have been in McCain's position and have overcome it for example, John Kerry was slightly trailing George Bush in the 2004 election in the end it was almost a near even split. Other examples are also mentioned throughout the article. After seeing this are the polls really reliable?

vice pres debate

So the debate was pretty interesting. I thought that both candidates did a good job but Bidon was very dry although his points were good. Palin did better then most people thought she would. I thought that she was just alright. She seemed to dumb things down which in a way is offensive. Palin also seemed unprofessional because she had "a shout out" which was the weirdest thing I have ever heard of. Palin also did not answer two questions, she kind of just went into different topics that she knew and she repeated the same things many times. Overall the debate was very interesting.
